Naho Degawa

Director / LEED AP ND

Naho is originally from Meguro, Tokyo, though she has lived in three countries and sixteen cities in her life. She holds a LEED AP ND, a Bachelor of Science in Community and Regional Planning from Temple University in Philadelphia, U.S.A., and a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Melbourne, Australia. She started her career as a project manager to conduct real estate and investment developments at Shimizu Corporation. After completing her master’s, she returned to Japan and undertook feasibility studies for Japan’s roads and highways and ASEAN’s transportation or waste management system as a senior engineer at a consultancy. She was a freelancer supporting Japanese private sectors for new business opportunities in Vietnam as a coordinator and urban planner, and as a translator/interpreter for the American private sectors for their businesses in Japan. She has explored placemaking in recent years and searching for possible functional and financial methods for a place for people’s happiness. She joined Region Works in July 2017.

She works on strategies, area management nationwide, data analysis, making teams, as well as salon development in Region Works.

She gains immense happiness and fulfillment through connecting with people, being connected with people, and sharing “Oishii” food with them. Her life journey is to pursue the “connection” and “something further” than connection.
